Meet the Teacher

My name is Hannah Komula and I am a kindergarten teacher at West Hempfield Elementary School. This will be my 10th year teaching and I am very excited for the upcoming school year! :)

 

 

I grew up in Somerset County and am the youngest of five children. I now live in Latrobe with my husband, Andrew, and we have a dog named Halverson. We are very busy trying to keep up with our 16 nieces and nephews!

 

My favorite food is pizza.

My favorite color is yellow.

My favorite thing to do is read and run!

 

I have a bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education (Pre-k to 4) and Special Education (Pre-k to 8) from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I have a master degree in education as a Reading Specialist and Literacy Coach (K-12) from Slippery Rock University. I have taught Kindergarten for 3 years and First Grade for 7 years. 

 

I am looking forward to meeting my students and can't wait to learn more about them, their favorite things, and their families! :)
